Reiki for Pets
Reiki is a method of stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. The word Reiki (pronounced "ray-key") is a Japanese composite
word usually translated as "universal life energy". The technique was developed in Japan and is administered by the laying on of hands.
It is based on the idea that all living beings have a special energy flowing through them called life energy. When life energy is high, your pets will
feel strong and confident, be more relaxed and less likely to get sick. When it is low, they'll often feel tired, be more easily affected by stress and
less resistant to illness. Reiki is a safe complement to conventional Western medicine, Chinese medicine, herbal medicine,
homeopathy and all other forms of healing.
Benefits of Reiki for pets:
Enhances overall well-being
Strengthens the immune system for surgeries or cancer therapies
Accelerates natural healing following surgery or illness
Enhances other treatments or medications
Increases trust and bonding between your pet and you
Can help with behavior issues by promoting relaxation and stress reduction
Provides comfort and relieves pain, anxiety and fear for terminally ill animals

About Ingrid King
Ingrid has 12 years of experience in the veterinary profession. During those years, she worked as a
veterinary assistant, technician and hospital manager. She gained a thorough understanding of pets’ and
owners’ needs in what can often be a stressful environment for both. Her passion for educating pet owners and her
love for animals, combined with her compassion and outstanding client communication skills, led her to realize her
dream to serve pets in a more hands on and individual capacity by forming Healing Hands.
She completed training in small animal massage, animal communication, and is a Reiki Master.
She views her role as that of a facilitator, assisting your pet in maintaining a naturally healthy state
and/or to adapt to physical limitations, changes, or injuries. The specific results of a session will be different
for each animal. Ingrid integrates massage, Reiki and her natural intuitive abilities and tailors each session to your pet’s individual needs.
Ingrid also provides Reiki sessions for pet owners - please call for more information about the benefits of Reiki for people.
Reiki, massage and other alternative therapies are not a substitute for veterinary care.
